Edoka Says Job Protection Key as Dekina, Omala Back Ododo, Tinubu
The Kogi State Government’s Special Adviser on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka, has identified workplace security and job protection as critical to sustaining workers’ welfare, while urging workers to support Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
Edoka spoke on Friday during the state government’s Workplace Security and Workers’ Welfare Campaign visit to Dekina and Omala Local Government Areas of Kogi State.
He said the campaign was aimed at sensitising workers on workplace safety, securing their jobs and consolidating what he described as gains recorded under the Ododo administration.
“The purpose of this campaign is to sensitise you on safety, secure your jobs, and consolidate the gains we have made. With Governor Ododo and President Tinubu, workers’ welfare is assured,” Edoka told workers in the two local government areas.
The Special Adviser also urged workers to remain vigilant at their workplaces and within their communities, stressing the importance of security in the current environment.
According to him, supporting the re-election bids of Ododo and Tinubu would help guarantee job security and sustainable development for workers.
At the Dekina Local Government Secretariat, the council chairman, Hon. John Urah Ikani, described the campaign as an appropriate initiative for grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.
Ikani said the programme had made political engagement easier, while commending Governor Ododo for approving what he described as a results-oriented initiative.
He also described Edoka as “a successful fighter” and congratulated the APC for having him as one of its frontline members.
The chairman assured the delegation of workers’ support for the government, citing the cordial relationship between workers, their leaders and the administration as evidence of the government’s leadership.
In Omala, the Local Government Chairman, Hon. Edibo Ameh Mark, similarly described the campaign as strategic to grassroots mobilisation.
Edibo stressed the importance of effective partnership with organised labour in implementing government policies and programmes and achieving victory in the forthcoming elections.
