The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu, has assured the management of Holley Memorial Hospital and the United Evangelical Church (UEC) College of Nursing Sciences, Ochadamu, that their requests for government intervention will receive due consideration.
Salifu gave the assurance on Friday during a meeting with a delegation from the two institutions, led by Rev. Noah Okolo Attah, at his residence in Ejule, Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The delegation had appealed to the state government to rehabilitate the access road linking the Umomi tarred road to the institutions and second healthcare personnel to the hospital to strengthen medical services, among other requests.
The deputy governor acknowledged the importance of the requests, noting that accessible roads and adequate healthcare personnel were essential for effective healthcare delivery, nursing education and the wellbeing of residents.
He said he would follow up on the requests through Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the appropriate government channels, subject to the administration’s priorities and available resources.
Salifu also disclosed that efforts were underway to connect Ochadamu to the proposed Ejule solar power project, which is expected to provide electricity for the community and its surrounding areas.
He commended the management of Holley Memorial Hospital and the UEC College of Nursing Sciences for their contributions to healthcare delivery, nursing education and human capital development in Kogi State.
The deputy governor urged the institutions to sustain their commitment to service and continue collaborating with the government to improve the wellbeing of residents.
The requests, if addressed, could help improve access to the institutions, strengthen healthcare services and support the training of nursing professionals in the state.
