Bode Adeyemi to Receive Kogi CAN Humanitarian Award »

The Kogi State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) will honour the Special Adviser to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on Energy Matters I, Hon. Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi, with a Humanitarian Service Award as part of activities marking CAN’s 50th anniversary.

The award presentation is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Kay Galaxy Event Centre in Lokoja, Kogi State.

According to the organisers, Adeyemi is being recognised for his contributions, support and sacrifices towards the growth of the Church and the development of Kogi State.

The award citation also acknowledges his reported efforts in the propagation of the Christian faith, promotion of peace and unity, and support for initiatives aimed at strengthening the Church and contributing to community development across the state.

The Humanitarian Service Award is intended to recognise individuals who have supported humanitarian causes, encouraged peaceful coexistence and contributed to the development of religious and community institutions.

The organisers said the recognition of Adeyemi is tied to values including peace, unity, service and community development, particularly his reported support for the Church and Christian-related initiatives.

Adeyemi serves as Special Adviser to Governor Ododo on Energy Matters and is also Chairman of the Forum of Special Advisers to the Kogi State Governor, a role that places him in a coordinating position among special advisers within the administration.

His engagements have included government and stakeholder activities connected to development issues in Kogi State, according to the organisers.

The award ceremony forms part of activities marking five decades of CAN, providing an opportunity for Christian leaders and members of the faith community to reflect on the association’s history and its role in promoting Christian unity and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.

The golden jubilee celebration will also recognise individuals whose contributions, according to the organisers, have supported the advancement of the Church and wider society through humanitarian service, peace-building and community development.

The Kogi celebration is expected to bring together Christian leaders, government representatives, political stakeholders, traditional rulers, community leaders, professionals and other invited guests.

The presentation of the Humanitarian Service Award to Adeyemi is expected to be one of the highlights of the October 10 celebration.

The organisers said the recognition reflects Adeyemi’s reported contributions and support in areas including the growth of the Church, propagation of the Christian faith, promotion of peace and unity, and development of Kogi State.

The event is also expected to provide an avenue for members of the Christian community and invited guests to celebrate CAN’s 50 years of existence while highlighting the importance of humanitarian service, peaceful coexistence and sustainable community development.
