Dekina LG Transition Chairman Hold Security Meeting, Distributes Operational Vehicles to Vigilante Groups »

The Transition Chairman of Dekina Local Government, Hon. John Urah Ikani, has convened an elaborate security meeting with traditional rulers and heads of security agencies in the area which culminated in the distribution of six security operation vehicles and two motorcycles to vigilante and hunter groups in Dekina local government area. This initiative aims to address the prevailing challenges of insecurity in the area.

During the meeting which took place at the council secretariat on Monday, the Chairman lauded the dedication of all stakeholders to peace and security of the area since he assuming office. He urged the traditional heads not to relent in providing necessary information to security agency to enable them consolidate on their efforts of protecting lives and properties in the local government.

Hon. Urah expressed gratitude to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his swift response to the security concerns of the people. He reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and properties within the state.

While distributing the vehicles and motorcycles to local vigilante groups, the Chairman reiterated the state government’s commitment to eradicating all forms of insecurity, he emphasized the importance of adhering to legal protocols while executing their duties, reminding recipients that the vehicles are solely for official use and not for personal or private activities.

Stakeholders at the event commended the proactive measures taken by the Dekina Transition Committee Chairman in addressing security challenges within the area.they assured of their continuous efforts to the state government to maintain peace and security.
