The Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, has felicitated with Muslims on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.
In a statement personally released on Wednesday, Fanwo admonished Muslim faithful and all citizens to emulate Prophet Ibrahim’s total submission and obedience to Allah.
In his words:
“As we all know, Eid-el-Kabir (Festival of Sacrifice) is celebrated to honour Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering obedience to God, as he was willing to sacrifice his son, Ismail, as an act of submission.”
Fanwo urged the people to emulate the total obedience, selflessness, and sacrifice exhibited by the Prophet. He maintained that Ibrahim’s unwavering faith and readiness to surrender completely to Allah’s will serve as a powerful example for all to follow.
“I urge the citizenry to be submissive to God Almighty and constituted authority. By so doing, we can have the fear of God in all our dealings, which in turn will bring unity, development, and peaceful co-existence,” he stated.
The Commissioner reassured Kogites of Governor Ododo’s unwavering commitment to infrastructural development across all sectors and the three senatorial districts of the state. He also implored them to use the occasion to pray for His Excellency, other leaders, and the nation at large.
He encouraged Muslim faithful to use the occasion to show love to one another, especially the less privileged, while wishing them a peaceful and fruitful celebration.
