Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has promised that his government would remain responsive at ensuring that Federal Roads across the state gets urgent attention.

The Governor made the pledge on Friday while he visited the site of Wednesday’s fuel tanker explosion in Felele, which claimed lives and destroyed properties in millions.

The Governor noted that he visited the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo and the Minister for Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola to discuss the need to give quick attention to Federal Roads across the state noting that commitments were made towards his request.

He added that their most immediate response was that contractors were back to site at the on going Okene-Lokoja- Abaji federal highway while the Federal Road management Agency have been directed to offer immediate temporary rehabilitations.

While expressing his condolence to those that were affected by the sad incident, the Governor urged the citizens to remain calm noting that succor would be rendered to families of victims and those who lost their properties.

The Governor urged drivers of heavy duty vehicles to ensure that their vehicles were in good shape warning that government would not take lightly recklessness from any quarters at the detriment of the people.

He added that his government being sensitive and realistic to the economic plight of the people would not ban tricycles or motorcycles from plying Federal Highways but instead ensure to sensitize users on safety while they go about their normal business.
