FFK’s defection: Kogi Gov. Calls for patience from concerned party leaders, members

…says Nigeria might become a One party nation after exercise.

Kogi State Governor and Chairman for the All Progressive Congress membership Registration and Revalidation committee, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has called on party leaders and members who have dissenting views over the return of Chief Femi Fani Kayode to the party to exercise patience and be more accommodating.

He noted that discussions were on high level on how Chief Fani-Kayode would return back to the APC where he was a foundational member

The Governor made this known on Wednesday when he received Senate Chief Whip and former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzo Kalu in a courtesy visit at the Government House, Lokoja.

Governor Bello noted that such step might look defiant to some persons who felt his views were critical of the government of the day, clarifying that his committee was however charged to mobilize citizens into the party and was not limited in selecting who joined the party.

The Governor urged party members to eschew politics of bitterness and open their arms to accommodate everyone noting that divisions in the past had not taken the party anywhere.

He used the medium to appreciate party leaders and members who have followed the foot step of President Buhari to revalidate adding that others should do same and encourage others to join the APC

The Governor noted that the ongoing exercise was an effort to strengthen and enlarge the party since such exercise has not being conducted since the inception of the party.

He expressed that after the exercise the country might soon become a one party system owing large number of membership the APC would record across the nation.

The Governor revealed that since the commencement of the exercise a total number of 25 million people across several demography and social groups have indicated interest to join the party as many other leaders could boast of similar records.
