Fmr Kogi Assembly Speaker, others celebrate Dep Immigration Controller Yabagi’s promotion in style
The immediate past Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Umar Ahmed Imam today, Saturday joined the Yabagi family to celebrate the promotion of Deputy Controller in the Nigerian Immigration Service, Abdulmajeed Ibrahim Yabagi at his residence in Lokoja.
Reacting to the celebration, the Khalifa of the family, Rtd Colonel Isah Yabagi described it as a favour from God deserving of their celebration.
He applauded the hard work, dedication, commitment and sense of service being demonstrated by his brother, Abdulmajeed, who he said is one of the finest officers in the service.
According to him, the day was one of the happiest in his life and prayed for Allah to give the officer the zeal to justify his promotion through more dedication and hard work, believing that with prayers humility which he is known for, the Deputy Controller would go farther in the service.
He enjoined the youths to take their studies seriously as there was no shortcuts to success, stressing that officer Abdulmajeed has been known to be upright and committed to his job, having studied very hard to reach his current position.
Reacting to his elevation, DC Abdulmajeed Yabagi said he does not see himself as successful yet, but that he would continue to give gratitude to the Almighty God for the position he has attained in life and in his chosen career.
The officer, who was particularly full of praise for the Controller General of Nigerian Immigration Service, Muhammed Babandede for bringing the much needed reform into the service since assumption of office said the rank and file were full of appreciation to him.
He dedicated his promotion to Almighty God and said it would spur him to be more committed, stressing that he had always been passionate about his job and called on the youth and other young ones to have sense of duty and passion for their chosen career.
For the Deputy Controller, sense of community service, empathy and compassion towards the needy were virtues that has been inculcated every member of the family from childhood, adding that it had always been part of him growing up.
He enjoined the youths not to wait for the perfect opportunity, but look for ways to improve themselves, take chances and improve themselves through vocational training and have senses of passion for the opportunities before them at all times.
The officer then thanked those who had attended the occasion to celebrate him and prayed Almighty God to increase the love and compassion for each other for brotherly love and overall societal development.
