Former SDP Assembly Candidate Defects To APC, Pledges Total Loyalty To Gov. Bello

Hon. Amdi Zaguru, a former Social Democratic Party (SDP) House of Assembly Candidate from Bassa local government area in the just concluded general elections, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), with a promise to move his support base to back the reelection bid of Gov Bello.

Hon Zaguru said he decided to join the party having been satisfied with the purposeful leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello, stating that he remains the best amongst all those seeking the position of Governor in the state.

Receiving the defector, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Edward Onoja praised Zaguru for his decision, saying it was a testimony to the Governor’s acceptance in the state.

“This is a clear testimony of the acceptance of the leadership of governor Yahaya Bello in Kogi State, and also a clear indication that Kogi people are solidly behind him”.

He said the APC in Kogi State operates an open door policy, reiterating that Governor Bello who is the leader of the party was fully committed to the welfare of people, stressing that his policies were geared towards sustainable peace, unity and socio-economic prosperity of Kogites.
He assured that new members will enjoy equal treatment by the party.

Hon Zaguru was one time PDP major financier in Bassa LGA before he left the party to join the SDP in the just concluded general election.

He is the son of a prominent Professor Amdi, a founding member of the PDP in Bassa LGA, and one time Special Adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo between 1999-2003.

Zaguru commands massive youth followership and has promised to mobilize his supporters to work for the success of Governor Yahaya Bello in forthcoming election.
