ICDA pay thank you visit to Governor Bello, presents him award of honour

The Igala Cultural Development Association on Tuesday paid a thank you courtesy visit to his excellency Governor Yahaya Bello, they also presented him an award in recognition of his good gesture towards the Igala Nation

The ICDA chairman, Comrade Abubakar Sadiq Amodu who led the delegation to the Government House Lokoja, affirmed that the Governor was well deserving of such recognition because of the newness the Igala Nation has witnessed in his own time
The Thank you visit was hinged on the Governor’s immense contributions towards the completion of the Igala Unity House and his presence at the commissioning event in Anyigba

He stated that they were at the Government house as part of the Igala culture to thank the Governor also for other events of that day which included the Flag off of Dekina – Anyigba township roads and the inauguration of the committee in charge of the operation power Kogi East.

The Chairman noted that such event was a platform to reveal that the project would not have been possible without the contribution of his stewart in government foremost of whom was the Chief of Staff Honourable Edward Onoja.

The ICDA chairman noted that the governor’s reliable Chief of Staff did not only participate in the fund raising but also went all out to reach persons across board and the success of that day would be creditted majorly to his effort.

Comrade Amodu noted that no Governor in the history of the State has ever appointed another tribe as his Chief of Staff but Governor Bello as a detrabalised leader has done so and has also appointed Igala sons and daughters into key positions.

He said the Governor was also known as a leader who ensured a classless society and by this gesture sons and daughters of nobodies were given political appointments in the state.

He mentioned that under his administration numerous traditional stools that have been left hanging were upgraded bringing about an increased value of the traditional institution in the state.

The ICDA president said also that the developmental trajectory in Kogi East were visible for all to see stating that the Ankpa township road which was an eye-sore has become a testimony which the people have continued to pour deserving encomium on the Governor.
He said other road projects that were near completion and others that were flagged off recently were laudable, pleading with the governor to facilitate speedy completion despite scarce resources.

The Comrade opined that Agriculture was the main stay of Kogi East’s economy noting that Cashew farming was a huge potential in the region which his administration must harness
He thanked the Governor for the proposed citing of a Cashew Processing Plant in a part of Kogi East lauding such step as a welcomed development

Comrade Amodu aligned that as elections were fast approaching it was God that gives power by choosing whom He desired to rule, He however wished the Governor the best in his next political endeavour.

In his response Governor Bello thanked the Igala Nation for the rousing welcome he received during his visit to Anyigba and Dekina for the Road Flagg off, Commissioning of the Unity House and the projetct power igala committee inauguration held recently.

The Governor who was represented by the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, RT Hon. Mathew Kolawole noted that his administration’s focus has always remained within the premise of Unity, Peace and Security for all kogi Indigenes.

He noted that his administration was that which loved and placed equal priority on all irrespective of where they come from or who they were.

Governor Bello thanked the Igala People for their support of his administration and asked them to solidly throw their weight behind his Chief of Staff, Chief Edward Onoja as the gubernatorial election drew nearer.

He affirmed that his government would remain committed to an increased infrastructural development as what has been done so far was a tip of the ice berg.
He Stated that as the people have requested, he has approved their take off grant to facilitate a smooth commencement of operations.
