Kogi COS, Pharm. Asuku urges Christians to imbibe virtues of Christmas

Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku Mohammad Jamiu has extended his felicitation to Christians in Kogi State and Nigeria as they join their counterparts all over the world to celebrate Christmas — the birth of Jesus Christ.

The Chief of Staff, Pharm. Asuku in his Christmas message through his Special Assistant, Abubakar Yahaya Mujahid expressed gratitude to God for His boundless blessings and allowing them to witness another significant religious festival which focuses on faith and total submission to His will as exemplified by Jesus Christ who has set a good example for all humanity.

Pharm. Asuku advised the Christian faithful to imbibe the lessons of the religious festival which reinforces the spirit of love, sacrifice, tolerance, friendliness, togetherness, amongst others.

“As the good people of Kogi and Nigerians join other Christians worldwide to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, I urge all Christians, to rededicate themselves to upholding the admonitions of Jesus Christ in their personal life and their relationship with others”

“These teachings must be reflected in our lives, actions, and relationships with others, particularly as our nation faces several challenges. We must put the unity of our great Country, Nigeria above all else, ensuring that the labor of our heroes past is not in vain” he said.

According to the Chief of Staff, “the society is experiencing the most difficult times following the outbreak of COVID-19 Pandemic which has affected various spheres of the economy of the State, Country and the World at large but thanks to the visionary leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello, Kogi State is coming out stronger post-pandemic. “

Pharm. Asuku said that the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello is a government that respects all religion, ethnicity or gender – an all-inclusive government while also commending His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello for his giant strides and for paying salaries early enough to enable the people of Kogi State to have a wonderful Christmas and prosperous holiday.

The Chief of Staff said the Christmas celebration which is often occasioned by Prayers, social gatherings, exchanges of gifts, and visitations should be done with love whilst being security conscious and taking the necessary protocols of public health safety.

While congratulating Christians for the opportunity by God to enable them to witness yet another Christmas, the Chief of Staff prayed for a successful celebration and charged them to remain devoted to their beliefs, show kindness and tolerance to foster harmonious co-existence as well as pray to God for an end to the security challenges that have bedeviled some parts of the country.
