The Director General, Protocol to Kogi State Governor, Sunday Aiyenigbe has been directed to embark on a 14 days compulsory isolation after shaking hands and sharing microphone with one of officials in the NCDC validation team to the state.

The governor gave this directive yesterday when he received a delegation from the Federal Ministry of Health and NCDC in the state.

Governor Bello who expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Health and NCDC for offering to help the state in maintaining its Zoro Covid-19 case status, said they were poised to observing all the WHO and NCDC Covid-19 prevention protocol by ensuring that people from high risk states were isolated for the 14 days period during which their samples would be taken for testing.

“You will recall that even the Chinese doctors who were invited to provide certain technical assistance to Nigeria were isolated for the period in order to ascertain their status because they were coming from high risk country.

“Remember this our visitors are coming from epicenters as well which is Abuja, and from the daily briefing that we receive from NCDC and PTF that a lot of their officials have been infected by the virus, we needed to know the status of our helpers before they begin their work. Since they have come, we are going to work with them but after observing their own protocols.

“We have our sample collector here, we have test kits from NCDC too with which we will collect their samples, including my DG protocol who just had a contact with one of them. We are going to take his sample too and all of them will go into isolation, then they are free to come and do their job after 14 days.
