Kogi guber: ‘G21/EBIGO‘ Embarks On Grassroot Mobilisation For APC

Ahead of the November 16, governorship election in Kogi State, a political group and another socio-cultural group under the auspices of G21 and EBIGO Agenda, has embarked on aggressive campaign, canvasing for the re-election of governor Yahaya Bello.

The Chairman of G21, high chief Amade Godwin Edime, said the idea was influenced by brain cracking to ensure that Bello comes out victorious in the forthcoming election.

He made the assertion while addressing newsmen shortly after a strategy meeting of the groups in Okene this morning. Amade said the group had mapped out the strategy for engagement and said that Bello led administration deserve a second term judging by his performances in all sectors.

While speaking he said: “in the history of governance in Kogi, APC under Governor Yahaya Bello has done tremendously well in all the three senatorial districts.

“Bello’s laudable projects had direct bearing on the lives of people in the state”.

He explained that their support was based on the governor’s numerous achievements, saying that without any doubt the governor will floor his opponents based on the support of Kogites.

“Bello’s re-election would ensure continuity in the positive affairs of the State.

On the strength of the group to garner support for the governor, he noted that the group (G21) is made up of former aspirant who are grassroots mobilizers. He also said that group has other goodwill ambassadors and foot soldiers drawn from across the state, and assured that even the opposition knows their strength.

“What we have embarked on is to add value to what the governor has done. We are engaging with the people at the grassroots to further solidify their support for Governor Bello.

He said unlike the opposition, they in the APC believe in interacting with the people and gaining their support rather than banking on violence.

“Throughout our campaign, we are going to ensure that there is no use of hate speeches, neither are we going to engage in any form of violence.

“We want the opposition to know that “we come in peace but we mean business”. Edime said.

The Initiator of EBIGO agenda, pharmacist Alexander Onoja, on his part said, the need for a second term was in order to also sustain the ongoing fight against ethno-religious divides and corruption in the state.

He said the emergence of Governor Yahaya Bello was a divine arrangement to end the ethnic division that hitherto existed in the state and unite the people under a ‘significant divine injunction known as EBIGO’.

Pharmacist Alexander said Governor Yahaya Bello in his detribalized nature have united Kogi State in all fronts, adding that he deserves another term to consolidate and solidify his gains.

The tour is expected to take place in the 21 local government areas of the state beginning from Kogi Central.
