Opinion: Once Again, Asuku To The Rescue

0

It was around 1:30am on Saturday 3 December, 2022 during one of my usual late night research work when a family friend drew my attention to the plight of the two students. I immediately placed a request on my social media handles to solicit for intervention in this regard.

The two students are in SS3 at EMCCO, Okene, and orphans. I can confirm that they are brilliant students but they have no means to pay for the West African Examination Council (WAEC) fees.

I have never done this before but this time it became the only option as I had already utilized my other life lines to settle similar cases.

Little did I know the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kogi State, my leader and friend, Pharm. Abdulkareem Jamiu Asuku who at the time just arrived the city of Port Harcourt along with the Governor was also very much awake and was still working.

The very young, compassionate, humble and vibrant Chief of Staff picked the information and engaged me via wattsapp chats. He requested for certain information which I supplied immediately.

The next thing was, “My brother, let’s do this for humanity I will pay the fees on Monday Insha Allah”

This is not the first time Pharm Asuku is coming through for the less privileged in the society and I know it won’t be his last. Lending a helping hand is in his DNA. Only God can sufficiently reward him.
