Security: Kogi Governor reveals success formula

Participants of the Executive Intelligence Management Course 14 of the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS), Bwari, Abuja have now concluded its management course and study tour of Kogi State after which they hailed Kogi State’s security architecture

The participants who were on Friday hosted to a gala night by the state government noted that their sojourn across the three senatorial district of the state clearly showed that there was a shift in paradigm.

The leader of the delegation and Deputy Commander of the Institute, D. E Ekpeji while presenting a gift to the State Governor opined that their choice to understudy the state was not far fetched from its success stories and
according to him the Institute would document all their findings as well as recommendations and make a formal presentation on 30th of April.

Governor Bello who addressed the visitors via skype from Abuja while reeling out the secret strategies for its security strides pointed out that his administration met Kogi largely divided along ethnic and religious line and a state which was a hot bed for criminality.

He expressed that although keeping Kogi safe was not an easy venture, their modest security achievements were premised on how the administration have remained resolute to keep the people safe.

The Governor expressed that his government was able to convert the negative energy of the youth in the state to positive zeal by first making himself a perfect role model to inspire young ones to live out their best live.

He noted that Kogi State was boarded by ten states which made the terrain highly supportive to all forms of criminality but with the cooperation of the citizens, security agencies, old narratives have been translated into laudable security strides.

The Governor noted that the state was now in the league of the safest states in the country with booming investment opportunities while international bodies have continued to laud the state’s financial probity and open policies.

Governor Bello urged the delegation to take the good reports which they have gathered in the cause of the tour back to their office while his government remained opened to suggestions and recommendations on how to further consolidate on its achievements in the sector.
