Sheikh Yabagi 2020 Maulud comes up Thursday 29th October »

This Year’s Annual Sheikh Ibrahim Yabagi Maulud holding at the family’s Islamic Zawiya (Enclave) in Cantonment, Lokoja, holds on Thursday 29th October, 2020 by 9pm.

Our reporter has learnt that to differentiate the usual celebration with this year’s edition, the event would begin today, Wednesday 28th October with a special prayer and Islamic praise session from 4pm to usher in the Maulud proper.

A statement contained in the invitation card made available to our reporter stated that the event shall be under the spiritual leadership of the Maigari of Lokoja, His Royal Highness, Dr Muhammad Kabir Maikarfi III and the Chief of Imam of the city, Sheikh Aminu Shaaban.

The statement added that the member representing Lokoja/Kogi (Kotonkarfe) Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Barr Shaba Isah Ibrahim and Alhaji Mohammed Rajab Na’ibi would co – chair the event.

“They shall be assisted by Brigadier General Abdulrahman Idris; the member representing Lokoja I State Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Isah Tanimu Umar; the Director of Lokoja Local Government Area’s administration, Engr Yahaya Farouk; and the Damburam of Lokoja, Alhaji Ismaila Abdulkareem,” noted the invitation information.

It further stressed that Khalifa, Colonel (Shiekh) Isah Yabagi, Shiekh Ibrahim Etsu Kenchi, Khalifa A.I.K Aleru and Ustaz Umar Yabagi shall be the hosts while the Maradin Kotonkarfe, Alhaji Suraj Ibrahim; the Sarkin Malamai of Lokoja, Alhaji Abdullahi Mambo; Alhaji Ida – Sura Musa; Alhaji Yabagi Gimba; Alhaji Usman Zunuraini; Alhaji Babankawo Idris; and Alhaji Tijani Usman Danlele are Guests of Honour.

Also expected at the event as guests is the Oba of Yoruba in Lokoja, Alhaji Bello Audu – Oke; the Hakimi of Ward ‘A’, Alhaji Idris Abdulrahman; Alhaji Maliki Ndambabo; Alhaji Mohammed Isah Yabagi; Alhaji Adamu Muhammed Alabi; Alhaji Idris Alhassan; Alhaji Tanimu Gausiya; Alhaji Musa Tela; and Alhaji Muhammed Haruna.

In addition, the invitation cited that Hajiya Bilkisu Agbagi Yahaya, Hajiya Mamma Ndambabo, Hajiya Hadiza Yakubu, Hajiya Hassana Dadi, Hajiya Balkisu Adam, Hajiya Iya Arif, Hajiya asma’u Ya – Nicha, Hajiya Salamatu Tatu Iyami shall all be women heads of the event.

This year’s maulud which is the 64th in the series shall witness eulogies in remembrance of the birth of Prophet Muhammad, His sayings and teachings, some glorious displays in His lifetime, instructions to believers in the faith of Islam, expectations from Muslims about their religious practices, justifications for celebrating His birthday, as well as Islamic songs of praise.
