Vocational Education: NKFI matriculates 151 students

…as Rector charge them to commit to their goals, shun vices

The Nigeria-Korea Friendship Institute of Vocational and Advanced Technology Lokoja, has matriculated 151 students into various departments in the Institution.

The Convocation ceremony was conducted at the Premises of the Institute, Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.

Government Functionaries, Traditional Rulers, Academicians and other well wishers, were present at the event as they charged the new student students to stay committed at achieving their goals in the Institution.

In his address, the Rector of the Institute, Williams Charles Oluwatoyin, described the 3rd Matriculation ceremony of the Institution as milestone and a giant leap into the greatness in the lives of the students.

Oluwatoyin said NKFI is a world class Institute with world class equipment and highly trained Lecturers, calling on the new students to take advantage of such a rare opportunity to better their future.

He foresaw Presidents, Governors, Ministers, Clergymen, Engineers, Commissioners, amongst others amongst those matriculated students and charged them to take their studies serious.

The NKFI Rector pointed out that the Institute is saddled with the responsibility of providing academic excellence, creativity and discipline, stressing that in the Institute, noble acts attracts rewards as all vices attracts heavy sanctions.

“Dear students, I Congratulates you, your parents and guardians on this matriculation that marks yet another milestone in your lives and a giant leap into greatness and attaining your destiny

“I wish to remind you very strongly that you have limitless opportunities to excel in any virtuous endeavour you have chosen in this Institute

“NKFI has zero tolerance to cultism, examination malpractice and every other vices. We have mechanisms in place to deal with cultists, their sympathizers and their sponsors

“As part of our security measures and constant identity check on the Campus, it is mandatory for all students to always hang their Student Identification Cards while on the Campus” he stressed.

Williams Charles Oluwatoyin commended Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for his doggedness at repositioning the Education sector in the State, rating Kogi as number one in Nigeria in terms of Education Development in the Nation.

“Your Excellency’s contribution and development of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learning is unequalled and unbeatable in the history of our State

“Kogi has been placed on the global map, courtesy of the man, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello

“I also want to thank out partners, Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) the Korean Government who are playing tremendous roles in furthering the developmental growth of the Institute as it strives to deliver Academic Excellence to it’s students” Charles said.

Speaking, the Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones, represented by Hon. Nana Hawa Yetunde Raji, SSA on Informal and Vocational Education to Governor Yahaya Bello, said the developing Countries are currently relying on Institutes as NKFI, calling on the Nigerian youths to endeavour to enroll in the Institution.

A Royal Father at the event, the Olu of Apata in Oworo District of Lokoja Local Government Area of the State, His Royal Highness Oba (Dr.) Fredrick Balogun, Congratulated the matriculated students and charged them to remain good ambassadors of their various homes.

Dr. Fredrick Balogun, while showering encomium on school Rector, reaffirmed the commitment of Apata Community at providing hectares of land for the citing of the Permanent site of the Institute.

The event featured Administration of oath to the matriculated students.
