464 Kogi intending pilgrims set for airlift to Saudi Arabia

A total of Four hundred and sixty four (464) Muslim pilgrims from Kogi State will depart for the Holy Lands of Mecca and Medina early hours of Monday for the 2019 holy pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

Addressing the pilgrims in Abuja, Governor Yahaya Bello charged them to be good ambassadors of Nigeria and respect the rules and regulations of the Holy Land.

“Do not say this how we do it in Nigeria so you are not found wanting. Be guided, obey their rules, do not travel with goods prohibited by their law.”

Governor Bello enjoined the intending pilgrims to bond in love, unity and be helpful to one another as they journey to fulfil one of the five pillars of Islam, adding that the unity his administration has entrenched amongst the people remains one of the best things to have happened in his time.

“As you embark on this journey, know that you all are one as citizens of Kogi State. Be accommodating and assist those in need.”

Governor Bello who used the opportunity to intimate the intending pilgrims of the purchase of his intent and nomination forms to seek reelection, urged the pilgrims to pray for his administration and the peaceful conduct of the November governorship election, their family members, Mr president and the country in general.

He cautioned them against absconding and possible involvement in unlawful businesses adding that the sole aim was prayers and to renew their conviction in the teachings of Prophet Mohammed (SAW).

The 2019 Amir Hajj, Alhaji Idris Babango commended the governor for his constant support to the commission in the state and assured of their good conduct in the Holy Land.
