Kogi Govt to Flag-off Distribution of FG Assorted Commodities to Vulnerable Citizens Monday
The Kogi State government is set to launch the distribution of Federal Government assorted commodities to vulnerable persons across the state. This was made known by the Executive Secretary of the Kogi State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Alhaji Mouktar Atimah earlier today in Lokoja.
The event which is scheduled for 12 noon tomorrow, Monday April 22nd at Kogi Hotels in Lokoja will kick-start the distribution of the commodities to the 21 local government areas of the state.
The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is billed to perform the official launch in the presence of the Minister for Agriculture, Sen Abubakar Kyari, the Director General, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) amongs other dignitaries.
According to the SEMA Executive Secretary, Muktar Atima, the initiative aims to alleviate the economic burdens faced by vulnerable individuals in Kogi State. The palliatives, consisting of food grains such as millet, corn, gari and other supplies are part of the federal government’s efforts to support citizens during challenging times.
Acknowledging the importance of reaching every vulnerable person in the state, Honourable Atimah noted that Governor Ododo has emphasized the need for transparency and efficiency in the distribution process, assuring that special arrangements have been put in place to ensure that the commodities reach the intended recipients across the state without any form of diversion or mismanagement.
