TRG Appoints Asiru Idris as Kogi Patron to Boost Tinubu’s Re-Election Drive
The Tinubu Renaissance Group (TRG) has appointed the Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, as Patron of its Kogi State chapter.
The appointment was announced on Wednesday in Abuja following a meeting between the commissioner and members of the TRG National Executive Council led by its Director General, Yeye Kuburat Kolo.
Speaking after the meeting, the group described Idris as a seasoned public servant whose leadership qualities and dedication to service distinguished him for the role.
According to the TRG leadership, his commitment to the development of Kogi State and Nigeria, particularly in advancing the Renewed Hope agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, informed the decision to appoint him as Patron.
The group noted that his wealth of experience in grassroots mobilization and engagement would provide strategic guidance to the Kogi chapter as it mobilises grassroots and national support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
It added that the organisation remains committed to promoting civic education, responsible leadership and citizen engagement in line with its mandate.
In his remarks, Idris expressed appreciation to the Tinubu Renaissance Group for the confidence reposed in him. He described the President’s re-election as a collective responsibility, stating that it aligns with the political direction of the Kogi State Government under Ahmed Usman Ododo.
He assured the group of his readiness to work closely with its members in Kogi State to advance its ideals and strengthen support for the Renewed Hope agenda across the state.
Reacting to the development, the Kogi State Coordinator of TRG, Hon. Abdulkerim Haruna (Kerry), welcomed the nomination of the commissioner, describing it as a strategic boost to the group’s structure in the state. He noted that the organisation’s network, which extends to the polling unit level, was enthusiastic about working with Idris to strengthen mobilisation efforts and advance the group’s vision.
This development, according to the state coordinator reaffirms the group’s resolve to consolidate strategic political mobilisation efforts ahead of the next electoral cycle.
