Kogi Central APC Chairmen Back Yahaya Bello for Senate

Kogi Central chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have pledged their support for former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, in his bid to represent the senatorial district at the National Assembly.

The party chairmen, led by the Kogi State APC Chairman, Dr Aliyu Momoh Ezzu, made their position known when they visited Bello at his Abuja residence on Sunday.

The delegation said the visit was to reaffirm their commitment to Bello’s candidacy and to the success of other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

The APC Chairman in Adavi Local Government Area, Comrade Barnabas Oyibo, said Bello’s election to the Senate would amount to a referendum by the people of Kogi Central.

Oyibo described the former governor as a “tested, trusted and accomplished leader”, arguing that his record in office would provide a basis for his campaign.

He also disclosed that APC members across Kogi Central had formed various groups and associations to mobilise support for the party and its candidates ahead of the elections.

Responding, Bello thanked the party chairmen for their continued support and confidence in his leadership.

He said that, if elected, representing the interests of the people of Kogi Central would remain a priority, alongside his constitutional responsibilities as a legislator.

Bello also urged the party leaders to maintain unity, strengthen grassroots mobilisation and avoid internal disagreements that could affect the APC’s electoral prospects.
