Group: Emerging Leaders Forum – Kogi East confers Iconic Leadership Award on Edward Onoja

The Emerging Leaders Forum in Kogi East has conferred an Iconic Leadership Award on the Chief of Staff and running mate to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State for his exemplary records as public office holder.

The convener of the group, Dr Usman Ogbo announced and presented the award today at the Delegates Meeting for adoption and ratification of her development Agenda for the area held at the Igala Unity House, Anyigba.

Dr Ogbo affirmed that the preoccupation of the group was good governance, something that has been provided by Governor Bello’s administration, hence their decision to back the government.

He said the group is represented in all parts of Kogi East up to polling units level, noting that they arrived at the decision having interacted with stakeholders including farmers, local traditional rulers and political officers from all parts of Kogi East.

The convener who is also the HOD Political Science in Kogi State University mentioned the construction of Ankpa Township Road, the Ibana – Okpo – Ette Road and construction of road from Anyigba to Idah, improved security of lives and property, provision of potable water, youth involvement in governance, among others, saying that they had no reason not to support the government of the day.

In his acceptance, Hon Edward Onoja expressed gratitude to God for the honour, saying that leadership has timeline and that some of the leaders today were once followers.

He said even as leaders, they are still emerging and thanked the group and then dedicated the recognition to all emerging leaders from Kogi East and Kogi State in general.

In his goodwill message, the Zonal Chairman of APC for Kogi East, Hon Ahmed Attah appreciated the efforts of the group, especially its convener.

He called on the youth of Igalaland to eschew all forms of violence on the basis of politics, saying that it has always been part of his call to APC supporters and his loyalists because election would come and go but that their communities would remain, hence the need to always toe the path of peace.

On his part, former governorship aspirant, Hon Amade Edime also extolled the virtues of peaceful coexistence, noting that APC was adequately prepared for the November 16 governorship poll and would emerge victorious.

The coordinators of the forum from the nine LGAs of Kogi East, highlighted the achievements of the present administration in their communities, and submitted the problems still militating against them for government intervention.
