Kogi Setting The Pace In APPEALS Project Implementation – Expert
Kogi State has been commended for being a frontier in the effective and efficient implementation of the Agro Processing Productivity Enhancement And Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS) project in the country.
This commendation came Thursday, 17th September, 2020, during a meeting of the State Government with experts in the agric sector.
Lead Resource person, Dr. Oyesola Oyebanji who gave the commendation said as a consultant on the project for several others states, Kogi APPEALS program and implementation was setting the pace and is far ahead of other states of the federation.
He further attributed the feat to the political commitment of the New Direction Government of Governor Yahaya Bello, adding that if other states could be as committed, the project would have maximum impact.
The Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja in his address lauded the APPEALS team in the state for not succumbing to the norm of allowing beneficiaries misappropriate funds but rather being creative noting that such would be a model for other states to follow.
He appreciated the Lead Resource Person over marketing the state in positive light, adding that the team would be equipped with the needed support from the State Government which includes security, Community Relations Support and many more noting that their strife exemplified the Let’s Do More promise of Gov. Bello second term administration.
