‘Maximize training opportunity’- Oloruntoba urges Kogi beneficiaries of APPEALS

The Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Kehinde Oloruntoba has urged the selected 1,700 women and youths beneficiaries of the World Bank assisted Agro-processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support Project tagged APPEALS to maximize the opportunity to become self sufficient.

Hon Oloruntoba made the remark, while addressing the batch A beneficiaries of the APPEALS training programme for Women and Youths currently undergoing on 3 different value chains at the Center for Dry Land Agriculture in Bayero University, Kano state.

“The knowledge acquired here will not only transform your life, but you are expected to equally impact positively on the lives of many others through this opportunity given you. Be attentive, take the training seriously to justify its objectives, as it is aimed at creating a sustainable agriculture in the state as make you financial viable,” he added.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke expressed gratitude to the Kogi State Government for tapping into the project and assured of their maximum cooperation to ensure the project is successful in the state.

The batch A beneficiaries which are undergoing training currently in three different value chains in Rice, Aquaculture, Poultry and others, are in Kabba LGA where the Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja declared opened a few days ago and Kano state.
