The State Security Adviser, Navy Commander, Jerry Omodara (Retired) has congratulated Governor Yahaya Bello on his resounding victory on Monday at the apex court.

Omodara made this known in Lokoja while reacting to the Supreme Court judgement that reaffirmed Governor Yahaya Bello and his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja as true winners of the November 16th gubernatorial election.

He said “The Supreme Court judgment has again put a judicial seal on the divine mandate freely and willing given to Governor Yahaya Bello and his deputy, Chief Edward Onoja by the people of Kogi State in the November 16th gubernatorial election.”

“I applaud the highest court in the country for doing its job without fear or favour, and urged the Governor to accept the reaffirmation of his election as a reminder of the confidence of Kogites in his capacity to continue to lead them towards greatness.

“It is on this note, I am elated to congratulate Governor Bello on his resounding victory at the Supreme Court. I had no doubt whatsoever in my mind that the Governor would be victorious, considering the massive support he enjoyed in the last election and his commitment to the peoples well being.”

“I equally felicitate with the people of the state and the entire members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) family for the victory,” Omodara added.

According to the State Security Adviser: “With all the litigations surrounding his election victory laid to rest, it is an opportunity for Governor Yahaya Bello to do more for the people in the area of security like he has done in the last four years, placing it topmost in the agenda of his administration which is evident for all to see.”

The apex court yesterday, shred and dismissed unanimously by the seven-man panel, the appeal by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Musa Wada and Barrister Natasha Akpoti of the SDP who challenged the outcome of the gubernatorial election.

The Supreme Court stressed that the Appellants failed to substantiate their case, noting that they adduced evidence with respect to only 24 out of the 729 polling units in the state.
“It is abundantly clear that this appeal is devoid of any scintilla of merit and it is accordingly dismissed.
