UEC Chairman of Conference lauds Governor Bello’s religious friendliness

The Chairman of conference of the United Evangelical Church (UEC), Rev. Ebukiba Udeme Samuel have praised Governor Yahaya Bello over his policy of openness and friendliness to all religion in the state.

He gave this commendation on Friday when he paid a courtesy visit to the Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Honourable Edward Onoja.

Rev. Ebukiba also thanked the State government under governor Bello for breaking the jinx and building a befitting chapel within the government house premises, saying that the act have given christians a huge sense of belonging in the state.

He noted that since his assumption as the Chairman of Conference he had been on a pastoral visitation to different units of the church as well as the area conferences and it was the turn of Lokoja Township Superintendency.

The Chairman of Conference pointed out that it was heartwarming and noteworthy that the Bello led administration has been able to nip in the bud the alarming rate of insecurity in the State.

While he assured of the church continued prayers for the government as they were instructed in the scriptures, he stated that they would continue to partner with the government towards the success of the forthcoming election.

The Deputy Governor, Honourable Edward Onoja thanked the UEC chairman of conference for visiting the government house as the state was glad to have him and his entourage around.

He affirmed that the government under governor Bello’s leadership has supported the Christian faith and bodies enormously in areas of building of churches, provision of vehicles for evangelism and even financial donations at different instances, including sponsorship of people on pilgrimage to the Holy land. He also said that the governor mobilized his Muslim friends and cabinet members including Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho who contributed hugely to the building of churches in Olamaboro, Ofu and in Dekina local government areas.

Honourable Edward recalled that in December, 2018 the government following the instruction of governor Bello, a Christian friendly governor presented nine coaster buses to churches and other christian associations and still remained poised to do more.

The Deputy Governor stated that this administration was liberal as it believed that everyone was entited to their religious belief and be treated fairly, equally and justly.

The visitor latter offered a special prayer in the office of the Deputy Governor and wished him God’s guidance in his new assignment.
