He is Accessible and Kind, the Kind of Man to be Governor – Ibitomi Matthew aka Ayelowo
My name is Matthew Ibitomi aka Ayelowo and I am a native of Ayer-Gbede in Ijumu LGA of Kogi State. I am a painter and I have been practicing my trade in Lokoja for a very long time. My testimony of Edward Onoja is a curious case, because I had not and still have not met him till this day, but his name is ever present in my home.
In 2018 my wife went into labour prematurely. She had encountered some unforeseen complications so we rushed her to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) in Lokoja where the Doctors advised that she underwent an emergency Caesarean Section (CS) to save mother and child. To the glory of God, the baby was delivered safely and placed on oxygen for many days in order to survive.
After a few days, we were to be discharged but the problem was the bill: I was charged 120,000 Naira. I fell into confusion. I began to search for help everywhere to no avail. I was tired and saddened by the entire situation because my wife and child had already gone through a lot and did not deserve any further punishment. It was while I was seated, going through my contacts and looking for who could assist that I stumbled upon the phone number of Chief Edward David Onoja.
I could only have it because Chief Edward David Onoja and his principal, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello had made their contacts public. I saved the number without ever thinking I would need to use it, but since I had no choice and nowhere to turn to, I gathered up the courage to make the call. Out of faith, I called the number and he picked at the first ring. The way he answered me in a cordial fashion encouraged me to tell him the situation on ground. He listened attentively and at the end, he asked how much I needed. I told him and he said no problem.
A short while later, he sent his assistant on Domestic Affairs popularly known as Haruna to meet me with a sum that cleared the entire debt and then some. That was how I was able to go home with my family.
When we were to name our Son, I called him “EDWARD” to honour the man who came to my aid without knowing who I was and at the most difficult period in my life. Because of him, I was able to do my duty as a Father to my son and Husband to my wife.
CEDO is the sort of man that has the compassion needed to be a great Governor. The fact that he has many other outstanding qualities in addition to humanity is the reason why we cannot miss out on him. He is accessible and kind. I do not know about others, but if I were to choose, I wouldn’t think twice before going with CEDO.
