Members of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) have been charged to build their capacity towards having an edge in the ever evolving competitive labour market.

The Executive Director of Heal for Africa who is also known as Healthertainer, Dr. Kelechi Okoro gave the charge on Friday while speaking on “What Next After NYSC” to the 2018 Batch B NYSC Medical CDS group in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

Dr. Okoro said the need for the corps members to discover themselves and have a clear cut vision for their future be it in entrepreneurship or building a professional career couldn’t be overemphasised.

According to her, more youths would have had a sense of direction if they had had someone spoke to them on how to utilize their service year.

“I am elated about those of you who have utilized your one year judiciously. I am happy to know some of you have established businesses, while others picked up some community and personal development projects which is commendable.

Dr. Okoro challenged the corps members on the need to embrace the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as solutions to positively impact the world and a guide to establishing responsible businesses as embedded in the goals.

She commended the executives of CDS for organising the programme and expressed gratitude for the award of certificate of service.

“It is never too late to start the journey towards success, impact and fulfilment. You can start now, maximise your service year,” she concluded.

The president of the Medical and Health CDS team, BAMGBOSE MICHAEL ROTIMI expressed appreciation to Dr. Kelechi Okoro for coaching them on real life experience and assured of their commitments towards utilising all they were taught.
