… offered Prayers for the unity and progress of Igala land

The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward Onoja today joined other well meaning Igala sons and daughters for the annual Igala National Prayer which took place at Garden of the Lord Prayer camp in Anyigba.

Organized by the Igala National Prayer Conference, the gathering brought together individuals across the public and private sectors as well as faith-based organizations to mark the end of the 21 days fasting and prayers declared, offer a thanksgiving prayer for all the achievements registered, and pray for the land and its leaders for the years ahead.

This year’s conference themed “Praying and Building Together,” was built on the need for the people to unite in prayers for the betterment of Igala land.

The convener, Dr. Abu Moses Alidu, said the prayer was about the Igala land, her leaders, the state, nation and the world.

He said peace building among Igala families and Igala land mattered most because it creates at atmosphere of brotherliness and a true world of love as the health and survival of the people depended on it.

He said the peace building process was for all Igala sons and daughters worldwide, as it gives a sense of hope, courage and prosperity. He called on the people to unite and embrace peace as a positive action that will ensure a better place to live in and build a better future for future generations.

“we must not give up, for without unity there won’t be peace.

“We all deserve a safe place to live, clean water, access to health care, enhance community well-being and harmony, understanding others opinion and respect each other. Prayer, hard work and sincere brotherliness are vital in achieving this”. He added.

Dr. Moses prayed against every evil militating against the development of the land, and also prayed for the unity and progress of Igala land

On his part, the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward Onoja opined that prayer should be about gaining the strength necessary to fulfill one’s responsibilities and deliver on God’s mandate.

He said the Igala people were known to be peace loving and caring, saying that these attributes were gradually fading away because greed, diabolism, hate, envy and other bad spirits have taken over the affairs of the people.

He called for retrospection and urged all, including himself to return to God in prayers to amend their ways.

Onoja prayed for unity among the people as it was the foundation for a better Igala land.

The Attah of Igala, HRM Michael Idakwo Ameh Oboni II, who was represented by the Ejeh Olamaboro, HRM Simeon Ujah, said Igala land was passing through a trial period and called for more unity and prayers to help them survive the trial.

He proclaimed goodwill upon the land and said the development sought by the people is guaranteed through unity and sincerity of purpose.

Earlier, the guest Pastor, Pastor Benjamin Obaka, offered a special prayer for the growth and development of the land and the state in general.

Attendance at the event was narrowed down to a few people in compliance with the federal government’s directive to stem the spread of Coronavirus disease by reducing over crowding in public places. Hand sanitizer, gloves were also available for use by attendees.
