Kogi State Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja has described the women of the state as selfless individuals who want the country to enjoy the impact of the current administration of Governor Yahaya Bello rather than keeping it to themselves.

He made the statement on Wednesday in Lokoja while receiving a letter on behalf of the Governor, presented to him by women of the state who held a 10 kilometre march to commemorate One Year Anniversary since the return of the present government for a second term.

The letter was presented to him by the Secretary to the state government, Dr Mrs Ayoade Arike Ayoade at the Government House on behalf of the women of Kogi State.

While describing Kogi women as women who do not hoard but want to share value of what they have with other women across the country, Chief Onoja enjoined them to continue to promote such values.

The Deputy Governor said the Governor was only doing the will of God, adding that the Almighty would direct his steps and help him to make the wise decision of accepting the call of the women of the state and the country to run for the nation’s Presidency in the next dispensation.

Chief Onoja who noted that the Governor was currently running a charge through the responsibility given to him by the national leadership of the ruling APC for the forthcoming gubernatorial election, said it was only wise for him to make a decision later because he needs a political platform to run on at the end of the day.

“In the next few weeks, the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is leading a team of important individuals to tell Nigerians from all walks of life to join the ruling APC. It is when we have dedicated, loyal members that he can then run for Presidency. It is then that your desire for him to run would be realised.”

While promising to deliver their letter to the Governor, he said the Nigerian Project was a divine one that started before now, adding that God himself would speak to the Governor and direct him to heed the call.
